Washington College

Founded in 1782, Washington College was the first college chartered in the sovereign United States of America. General George Washington lent us his name, donated 50 guineas to our founding, and served on our first Board of Visitors and Governors.

When you take part in a campus visit, its not only about seeing campus, meeting the people who make up the community, and checking out the learning environment, but you also get to experience the journey you would make as a student from your home to Chestertown.  See our Travel Assistance program.
